District & Campus Professional Learning Days
Continuous and innovative professional learning aligned to the district's mission and strategic plan fosters a growth mindset, an urgency for change, and results in meaningful change in practice, ensuring that students become college, career, and life ready.
SCUC ISD defines the term professional learning as a comprehensive, sustained approach to improving all employees' effectiveness in supporting the realization of the district's Strategic Plan. Professional learning is aligned to the district's curriculum, instructional programs, and initiatives, with the ultimate purpose of improving student growth and achievement.
SCUC-ISD is committed to providing quality professional learning for its staff. Some of the many ways this occurs during the year include:
Campus professional development: Based on campus needs and both campus and district expectations, these sessions are offered during campus professional development time and may also include time during faculty meetings as needed. The Campus Improvement Plan typically drives campus professional learning.
District professional development: Based on district needs and initiatives, these sessions are offered during district professional development time as well as additional options throughout the school year and summer. The District Improvement Plan typically drives district professional learning.
Professional Learning Communities: SCUC has been utilizing PLCs for a number of years. Please click the link for more information.
