Director of Bands
Mrs. Bonitz loves being part of the Rocket Family!! Currently in her nineteenth year of teaching, Mrs. Bonitz conducts the High School Rockets Marching Band, Concert Band, Pep Band, and Jazz Band. In addition, she instructs the 6th Grade Band, 7th Grade General Music, and instructs the Henry Defer Intermediate Beginning Band.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mrs. Bonitz served as the Ohio Music Educator Association Board of Trustees Secretary from 2023-2025, works as an OMEA Adjudicator providing feedback to students at regular OMEA events, and now serves on the Ohio Music Education Association Board of Trustees as Editor of the Triad.
Prior to her work at Streetsboro, Mrs. Bonitz was the Director of Bands and Choirs at Mogadore Local Schools. Mrs. Bonitz received her Bachelor of Education in Music from The University of Akron and her Master of Music Education from Boston University. She resides in Cuyahoga Falls with her husband, Ryan, who is the Director of Bands in the Twinsburg City School District, and her 5 year old daughter, Mina.
Choir Director and Assistant Marching Band Director
Ms. Spinner is in her second year at Streetsboro. She now serves as the Director of Choirs for Grades 6-12 and is the Assistant Marching Band Director for the High School Program.
Before becoming a Streetsboro Rocket, Ms. Spinner was the interim Middle School director at Rocky River Middle School. She spent time teaching general music at Sam Salem CLC and did course work at Revere Local Schools.
Ms. Spinner earned her Bachelor of Music Education from The University of Akron. While at school, she taught music lessons at St. Vincent St. Mary's and assisted with their marching band and school musicals.
Currently, Ms. Spinner plays for the Cleveland Women's Orchestra as a trumpet player, is an involved alumna of Cuyahoga Falls High School, and plays cello in her free time.
Marching Band Staff
Percussion Instructor
Allison is a graduate of Midview High School and is a current student at Kent State University studying music education. She is a drumline enthusiast and has worked with schools including St. Edward High School and Avon Lake High School in the past.
Auxiliary Instructor
Emma is excited to return to SHS as the Auxiliary Advisor. Emily is a graduate of Kent State University. Prior to her service with Streetsboro, she was the Auxiliary Advisor for Mogadore Local Schools.
Brass Instructor
Morgan is a graduate of Midview High School, and is a student at the University of Akron studying music education. She is primarily a trumpet player, but has been able to branch out and work with the entire brass family for years. She has worked with private students on multiple brass instruments, as well as small groups at different schools.
