Sobie Finishes Career with Four State Championships

Congratulations to Milena Sobie, who finished her HS track & field career with four State Championships. Milena is Streetsboro's first seated athlete and will be continuing her track & field and academic careers at the University of Arizona. Her championships include 1st place in the Seated Shot Put and Seated 800m events in 2023 and 1st place in the Seated 100m Dash and Seated 800m in 2024. In addition to her championships, she earned three 3rd place finishes, one in the Seated Shot Put, one in the Seated 100m Dash and one in the Seated 400m Dash, and one 2nd place finish in the Seated 400m Dash. 

Track & Field Athletes Perform Well in Dayton

Congratulations to our track & field athletes who participated in the State Championship meet on Friday & Saturday in Dayton. The Rockets were highlighted by Senior Milena Sobie, who earned 1st place in both the Seated 100m Dash and the Seated 800m. Senior Garrett Tiller earned Runner-Up in the 200m Dash. The 4x200m Relay team of Garrett Tiller, Preston Hopperton, Devon White and Kylan Rue placed 5th and Sophomore Olivia Johnson-Wilson placed 7th in the 300m Hurdles. Aside from winning 2 State Championships, Sobie earned Runner-Up in the Seated 400m Dash and 3rd place in the Seated Shot Put. Tiller also ran in the 100m Dash event and placed 17th.

Track & Field Qualify Multiple Athletes to the State Meet in Dayton

Congratulations to our track & field athletes who advanced to the State Championship meet next weekend in Dayton. Those athletes include Senior, Garrett Tiller, who was the Regional Champion in the 100m & 200m dash. The 4x200m relay team that placed 3rd and consisted of athletes Kylan Rue, Garrett Tiller, Preston Hopperton and Devon White. Olivia Johnson-Wilson placed 4th in the 300m hurdles to advance and set a new school record in the process. And to our seated athlete, Milena Sobie, who advanced in the seated events of shot put, 100, dash, 400m dash and the 800m run. Good luck next weekend. 

Congratulations to the SHS Softball Team on a great season!

The girls softball team had a 10 win improvement from the 2023 season where they won just 3 games. The 13 win season was 1 win away from tying the school record for wins in a season of 14, set in 2006. The girls also won the sectional championship, something last done in 1994. 

Michael Hall Jr. Visits Streetsboro High School

Recent Browns draft pick, and Streetsboro graduate, Michael Hall Jr visited Streetsboro High School on Monday, May 6th to remember his time at Streetsboro and visit with the current teams. Michael was able to talk with former players and coaches and was gifted his game worn jersey.
