Welcome Third Grade Parents and Students:

My name is Jo Ferguson. I have been teaching since 1999. I have taught all grades 1-6. I also did reading recovery for 4 years before taking over the 3rd grade classroom here at Cortland Elementary. My education philosophy is everyone has the right and ability to learn. My goal is to teach students how to be problem solvers and learners throughout their lives. Learning doesn't stop after school. Please know that I am here to support you, the parent. You are your child's primary educational resource and influence. So if at any time you have questions or concerns just contact me. I will support you any way I can.

We focus on being responsible for ourselves and our materials. It is very important that students have the items from the supply list, every day. This is their job and they need to come prepared, just as you would to your job. Not being prepared could cause consequences.
