Dear Middle School Students and Families,                                                                          January 21, 2025

We are back into the swing of everything as we head into the 2nd semester. With a new year, comes new opportunities for our students as we begin 2nd semester. There are some important events coming up this first months of the year.

Extended Learning Opportunities:

On Monday’s and Wednesday’s, after school from 3:30-4:30, we offer our Extended Learning called Streak Time. Students who failed a class in the previous quarter must attend Streak time to earn back their Progress Point. Each grade carries an amount of points and students need to have enough Progress Points to be promoted to the next grade level. 

The Importance of Academics

The message has been delivered to students throughout the school year on the importance of attendance and academics. We have a very important spring testing season coming up and we want all of our 7th and 8th graders to be prepared. Please continue to monitor student homework assignments, make sure they attend Streak Time if needed, and always reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We are preparing all 7th and 8th graders for the next grade level including our 8th graders for high school. Together we can make this transition successful. 

Attendance:

Just a reminder if your child is going to be out sick, please call the attendance line at 419-984-1183. Please be sure to bring a note the following day for any absence. After seven (7) parent notes, a doctor’s note will be needed to excuse the absence.

Sports & Activities:

Our winter sports teams are finishing up their seasons and we would like to wish all of our student athlete’s good luck as they finish up the season. We now have a chess club after school, if your child is interested in playing the game of chess. Students will need to listen to announcements for when our next chess club meeting takes place. Our Student Council is sponsoring a special Valentine’s Day Dance in February, more information is to come.

Looking Ahead:

For the month of February, there will be no school on Monday, February 17th due to President’s day. Streak Time will continue on Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 3:30-4:30. 3rd quarter midterm is February 21st.
