Message from the Principal

Dear Middle School Students and Families,                                                                        October 5, 2026

We are already in October for our school year at Sandusky Middle School. Within a little more than a month of school we have completed Fall NWEA testing, students participated in two PBIS Reward days, Student Government elections happened and we have a fun spirit week for homecoming next week. As we move into October, we have another packed month of information for you.

Midterms

Parents have access to Progress book which shows your child’s Grades. We want to make sure students who are struggling academically are able to bring up their grades before the end of the 1st quarter. The 1st quarter ends on Friday, October 23rd. There will be opportunities for students to receive extra assistance which begins next Monday, October 12th.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:

With conferences happening this week, hopefully you are able to get in and talk with your child’s teacher. You can always schedule a conference with your child’s team after school from 3:00-3:25. Please reach out to your team of teachers if you need to meet throughout the year.

Picture Day:

On Tuesday, October 20th, we will have our fall picture day. All students are encouraged to either dress up or if they do not want to dress up, they must be in school uniform.

Bullying Awareness Month:

October is Bullying Awareness month, we want to take this opportunity to remind all parents that if you have received a complaint from your child about bullying, suspect bullying, or need more information about potential bullying, please report to the school administration. We take bullying very seriously at Sandusky Middle The first step of solving any issue or potential issue is for a Bullying Complaint form to be completed. This will launch a series of fact-finding measures that we will take to solve the issue at hand.

Fall Fundraiser:

Our Fall Fundraiser begins on Tuesday, October 6th where students can sell popcorn to friends and family for a variety of prizes. These fundraisers we have allow us to do exciting activities for the students and/or cut costs considerably for participation. We look forward to a successful fundraiser which ends on October 20th.
