Message from the Principal

Dear Middle School Students and Families,                                                                                                                             May 1, 2026

We are almost at the end of the school year, and there is a lot happening in the month of May and June. Please review the enclosed calendar for all the events that are taking place. Here are some descriptions on some of these scheduled events for the month of May and June.

Spirit Week: May 4th through May 8th

Next week is Spirit Week, May 4th through May 8th. Monday students can Dress for a future job, Tuesday is 7th grade elders/8th grade babies, Wednesday is students can dress like their teacher. Thursday is now wearing Green Day for our Mental Health Awareness Day. Friday is Team Theme Day. We encourage all students to participate or they can still wear school uniform.

Field Trips

We have quite a few field trips coming up in the next few weeks. Some are for PBIS Rewards, some are educational, and some are grade level/team related. Please check the calendar for the different field trip your child may be attending. Our 7th graders have an excellent opportunity to go to Kelly’s Island this spring. Team Skyhawk will attend on May 26th and Team Raptor will attend on June 2nd. These trips are during the school day and more information will be sent home in the upcoming weeks.

Sandusky Middle School Awards Assembly: May 20th

On Wednesday, May 20th we will have our annual awards assembly for students. Parents are encouraged to come to the auditorium to see their child receive their award. The 7th grade assembly will begin at 9:00 A.M. in the auditorium. The 8th Grade assembly will be at 10:30. This is a full day of school and students are not being released after the assembly. Any student who goes home after the assembly will be marked as an unexcused absence.

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony: June 4th

8th Graders are getting ready to promote to freshman year of high school. They have selected their choices for courses and have only a few more weeks here with us at Sandusky Middle School. 8th graders who are passing their courses will participate in our Promotion ceremony on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. We are inviting parents and families to attend and share this wonderful event with your child. More information will be coming home for 8th graders.
