Suggested Materials

I am glad you are here & hope each of you have had an enjoyable summer.

Listed below you will find a list of suggested materials. The list is simply suggestions and you are certainly welcome to use appropriate materials that suit your own personal needs in order to stay organized and on pace. Do not feel that the below list is an absolute requirement; most of the items listed are only suggestions.

• Pencils (please do all your work in pencil since it is easy to erase)

• Highlighters (if you prefer)

• Notebook: Each student will need a math notebook. Three or six subject notebooks work best.

(NOTE:  AP/DE CALCULUS): A TI-89 calculator will be furnished for you to use in and out of school at no cost. Purchasing your own calculator is not needed and certainly is not a requirement however; if you feel the need to have your own personal calculator I would suggest purchasing a TI-89 Titanium.

• 3-Ring Binder and/or Folder: There will be various handouts throughout the year and each student will need to be able to organize them.

I am looking forward to a great year filled with success. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Mathematics is a GREAT subject, but it can also be challenging by nature.  I exercise an open door policy and strongly urge students to see me for additional tutoring as often as needed.  If two or three days of class pass and you find yourself confused, PLEASE see me for additional help.  NEVER go any longer than three days (and I really suggest only two to be safe) without seeking assistance.  I also suggest that parents/guardians contact me as soon as you feel your child is experiencing a prolonged period of difficulty.  Communication is essential and can alleviate much of the stress that is created by the difficulty of the content material.  If you have any questions or concerns in regard to the course or in general please do not hesitate to contact me.
