NHS Library Mission Statement

The media center is the learning center of the school. It supports the goals and objectives of the school by providing the best possible atmosphere for educational activities. These activities allow the school community to meet the challenges of gathering information and the use of available technology.

General Procedures

The NHS library hours are from 8:15 am to 3:35 pm each school day. Teachers and students can request an extension of these hours with advanced notification.

Students are allowed to check out 2 books without special permission for a period of 10 school days. Students who have overdue books must return them before checking out other items from the library. The person checking the books out is responsible for its return or its replacement if lost or damaged.

Reference books and materials cannot be checked out by students but copies of articles can be made for research purposes.

Books in use by more than one class may be loaned out overnight and returned the next morning.
