Mrs. Keen

Hello!  

I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Kelley Keen, and I am so excited to be your child’s 7th grade English teacher!  I was born and raised in the beautiful historic city of Richmond, VA, and moved to Marion, VA, in 2017.   I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University and a graduate certificate in Secondary Education Professional Studies from Old Dominion University.   I enjoy hiking, camping with my family, reading, and crocheting outside of teaching.  

This course will target students’ growth in reading, writing, listening, speaking, discussion, and reflection.  Reading strategies, critical thinking skills, and vocabulary building comprise the main elements we will cover throughout the year.  

Throughout the year, it is essential to have a solid parent-teacher relationship.  Therefore, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact me.
