A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Hello from Ms. Knecht. Just wanted you to know a little bit about me as we begin this very different school year. I am the school counselor for grades 6, 7 and 8. I can help you with planning your schedule, thinking about a career path and I'm here to listen if you need to talk. I'm here if you are having a great day and want to share or if you're feeling terrible and need to vent.
I also sponsor the Honors Club and Paws for a Cause Club here at MMS. I am an animal lover and a lot of the things we do with Paws for a Cause helps Smyth County Humane Society and Smyth County Animal Rescue in their missions for local animals.
In my spare time I like to be outside enjoying nature or doing aerobics classes at the Lifetime Wellness Center. My favorite hobbies are art projects and photography. I especially like taking photos of dragonflies and butterflies. The coast of North Carolina is one of my favorite places to visit. I also enjoy spending time with my family and pets.
I will be giving you some opportunities in our lessons this year to tell me ABOUT YOU and what you hope to do in the future as we start building your career plans.

This is a place you can visit when you are feeling stressed, frustrated or just need a break in between virtual learning classes. Try clicking on different objects in the room. They will take you to links of fun things to do. The different activities can help give you a mood and energy boost or some time to calm down and relax your mind. Creating things can help you feel good. Check out how to make a gratitude jar, a coloring project and a Kindness Rock. Take the time to listen to some stories and a video that have messages about how to deal with having a bad day, feeling unimportant, accepting others who may be different, being the new kid and thinking about the future.
