Specific Bequest - The donor specifies a dollar amount or percentage of the estate to be transferred to the foundation.
Contingent Bequest - The assets of the estate are transferred to the Foundation if previously named beneficiaries are no longer living.
Residuary Bequest - After all specific bequests have been satisfied, the Foundation receives all, or portion of the remaining estate assets.
Charitable Remainder Trust - This provides income to beneficiaries during their life. After death of the beneficiaries or a specified number of years, the remainder of the trust is given to the Foundation.
A Stanton Community Schools Foundation Recognition Center is located in the Commons Area of the Stanton High School for the sole purpose of recognizing those individuals who have contributed to the Foundation.
Outright Gifts
Recognition Gifts - Cash gifts to honor a person or special occasion. For example a scholarship can be established in the name of an individual for a donation of $10,000 or more.
Memorial Gifts - Money donated to honor a decease relative or friend.
Principle Assets Stay in Foundation - If so stated, all gifts and bequests given to the Stanton Community Schools Foundation remain in the Foundation Fund with only the interest from Foundation assets used for continuing educational excellence for the community and children, if that is the desire of the donor.
This allows donors to change their premium dollars into charitable contributions by assigning policy benefits to the Foundation. Premiums may be tax-deductible, and the policy benefits may be exempt from estate taxes.
Check with your employer to see if your corporation participates in a matching gift program.. Under this program your contribution is matched by your employer and the size of your original gift is doubled and sometimes tripled. Your company will provide you with a "matching gift" form to mail in with your donation. Check with the appropriate person in your business for more information.
