Assignment #2 – SPECIES OBSERVATION and FIELD STUDY

Due Monday, July 27, 2020 TURN IN VIA GOOGLE CLASSROOM

SPECIES OBSERVATIONS:

1. Select a species that you can observe daily for at least a week. This can be a pet, a farm animal or a wild animal. If you select a wild animal you should be careful not to disrupt its habitat, interfere with its natural behaviors or endanger yourself. DO NOT INTERACT WITH OR TOUCH A WILD ANIMAL.

2. Record the species habits, behaviors, types of communication and signaling.

3. Organize your data in charts and graphs

4. For each behavior, give a possible evolutionary advantage to the actions that have enhanced the survival of the species throughout time. You must list at least 5 BEHAVIORS and evolutionary explanations.

5. Create a lab report about your species observation project. See RUBRIC for details.
