All HW assignments will be posted here. Please complete all homework using KFS (Know, Fine Solve) format, neatly with units in final answers.

Heads up: Homework will be checked at beginning of class to see if you at least set up problem with Knowns, Finds and sketches. All HW is due the following class meeting unless otherwise specified.

Mon, Aug 24: Read C12 "Sound", Section 2, "Intensity of Sound", pp. 325-327; Problems 8, 9 & 11 pg. 347.

Tue, Aug 25: Read C12 Section 3, "The Ear and it''s Response to Loudness", pp. 328-329, Problems 21 & 22.

Wed, Aug 26: Read C12 Section 4, "Sources of Sound; Vibrating Strings", pp. 329-334; Problems 25 & 27.

Thu, Aug 27: Read C12 Section 4 Continued, "Air Columns"; Problems 33, 34, 37 & 38.

Fri, Aug 28: Read C12 Sections 5 & 6, "Quality of Sound and Superposition of Musical Instruments", pp. 334-337; Problems 39, 41 & 42.

Note: If you have a musical instrument to demonstrate, let me know.

Tue, Aug 18: Read C11 Section 13; "Standing Waves; Resonance"; pp 310-312; Problems 41, 52 & 59b.

Wed, Aug 19: Study for C11 Test (Review Study Guide and Chapter Summary on pg. 315.

Thu, Aug 20: [C11 Test primarily sections 7-13]; No HW

Fri, Aug 21: Read C12 "Sound", Section 1, "Characteristics of Sound", pp. 322-324; Prob 1, 3 & 5.

Note: There will be a C11 Test Thursday, August 20 covering primarily sections 7-13.

Wed, Aug 12: Review for C11 Quiz Sections 1-6. 

Thu, Aug 13: Read C11, Sections 7 & 8, "Wave Motion" & "Transverse & Longitudinal Waves", pp. 300-303; Problems; 36 & 37.

Fri, Aug 14: Read C11, Sections 9 & 10, "Energy Transported by Waves" & " Intensity Related to Amplitude and Frequency", pp. 305-307; Problems 47 & 49.
