My name is Travis Pierson. I teach Biology I (General Biology) and Biology II (Anatomy and Physiology) at Twin Springs High School. My wife's name is Jamie. We have two dogs, Maggie and Sophie. We have one cat. Her name is Gracie. I am also Pastor of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Course Description
Biology is the branch of science that deals with the characteristics, functions, processes and interactions of living organisms. Students will learn the scientific method and microscopes, basic chemistry and the periodic table, water chemistry, solutions and pH, biochemistry and how it affects the body, macromolecules, cells and cell division, microbes and the germ theory of infectious disease, DNA structure to protein synthesis, classification, natural selection, and ecology. The curriculum is the Virginia Standards of Learning for Biology.
