Cove Ridge Education Council

The Education Council of the Cove Ridge Center Foundation and Advisory Board was re-created in 2016 to organize and plan the C.R.E.A.T.E. (Cove Ridge Educational Alliance for Teaching Experientially) Workshop for educators.   The council meets about once a month at the Cove Ridge Center in Natural Tunnel State Park.  If you are interested in being on the education council please email Austin Penley.

In Loving Memory of William (Bill) Cawood, Lowell Fowler, and Jesse Wright

These three men were an integral part of Natural Tunnel State Park. 

Their seemingly unending knowledge, paired with their wits and positive attitudes, drew people to them. 

Their dedication to educating others about Earth and its amazing resources will not be forgotten.

Those fortunate enough to be their students will ensure their knowledge lives on through the education of future generations. 

They will be sorely missed.

Registration lasts from August 1 August 9 to August 25, 2023.  

Educators from Russell, Washington, Sullivan, Hawkins, Wise, Lee, Carroll, Tazewell, and Scott Counties and the cities of Kingsport, Norton, and Bristol, VA, are welcome to register for this wonderful opportunity!  Please check out the pictures of the lodges as you are deciding if you'd like to spend Friday night at the park.
