My name is Beth Strickland. This is my 11th year of teaching, and I'm convinced that I have the best job in the world! When people ask me why I teach, my response is, "Because it's what I was born to do!" Teaching is my passion; my students are my people. My pledge to each and every one of you, my students, is that I will be your biggest advocate, fan, and encourager.

As your teacher, I want to learn about you and the things that are important in your life. Here's a little about me...

I grew up in the small town of Lanett, Alabama as the daughter of two educators. I attended the University of Alabama and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. I later attended the University of West Alabama and earned a Masters in Secondary Mathematics Education.

I am blessed to be a wife and mom to three boys. My family has lived in Scottsboro for 15 years, and we consider it home. My husband is a minister, so we enjoy spending time participating in many activities at our church. My boys all play sports and are involved in various school activities, so a night at home with nothing to do is very rare! We enjoy going to the beach, playing games, and playing with our dog, Annie.

I can't wait to get to know each of you throughout this semester. I am so thankful that I get to be a member of the awesome faculty at Scottsboro High School...now let's learn some math!!!
