Santiago College Design Area seeks to provide our students the opportunity to develop their technological skills and creativity to the fullest. Our students are challeged with different "Design Situations" that requires from them the use of de MYP design cycle, following each step in an iterative way.

The steps are the following ones:

Inquiring and analysing
- Explain and justify the need
- Identify and prioritise the research
- Analyse existing products
- Develop a design brief

Developing ideas
- Develop Design specification
- Develop desing ideas
- Present the chosen design
- Develop planning drawing/diagrams

Creating the Solution
- Construct a logical plan
- Demonstrate technical skills
- Follow the plan to create the solution
- Justify changes made to the design

Evaluating
- Design testing methods
- Evaluate the success of the solution
- Explain how the solution improved
- Explain the impact of the solution
