In September we went on our sponsored walk to Corkagh Park. We had a long walk but playing in the playground made it worth it!
We have been busy getting active in our classrooms everyday! We all do various active tasks such as gonoodle, zumba, yoga and the list goes on! Have a look at what we have been getting up to during term 1!

Feel good Fridays! :) We play music on the yards on a Friday and dance our socks off for 30mins!!

Operation Transformation
In January the whole school started Operation Transformation. We completed our 10 @ 10 breaks, inside and outside. Lots of walking in the yard and lots of active breaks! Some classes even completed their 10 @ 10, together outisde!
Steppers of the week!
As part of our Operation Transformation week, the teachers decided to do a 'Steppers of the week' challenge. Everyone gave it a great go and came out with some impressive scores! We had two people who really came out with some excellent steps! Well done to Audrey who came in first place and Claire who came in second place!

Our School CeilĂ
We have a ceilĂ every year. Each class get to showcase their dance moves to the rest of the school. This year we had two teachers that played the guitars for us as we danced to traditional Irish music. We had a super day!
Virtual Sports Day 2020
European Sports Day 24th & 25th of September 2020
On the 24th & 25th of September, Scoil Mhuire participated in European Sports Day. We chose a European country and their associated sport and gave it a go on sports day. We had lots of fun and the weather was nice! We learned some new sports such as hockey and rugby. In our classes we also learned about the country we were doing. We made flags to represent our country. Take a look at some of the fun we had :)

Run a day around Europe challenge 2020
The senior classes are also running around Europe. They have started their trip by running to Paris as a goal for Term 1.
Run a day challenge 2021
The whole school are going to run around Ireland and see how far they get in four weeks. Each class has been taught the important skills for running and how to run correctly.

This is our run around Ireland chart. In each classroom they have a chart with the distance to each county marked out. The class will run around the yard- 1 lap= 1km until they reach their destination. Once they have reached their location they tick it off the list and move on to the next place! They have had lots of fun learning about their chosen location and what attractions are there to visit when lockdown is over!
