What is the Bilingual Authorization Program?

The Bilingual Authorization equips educators to meet the diverse linguistic and cultural needs of students in Sacramento County and beyond. This credential allows teachers to provide instruction in English and another target language, ensuring equitable access to quality education for students in bilingual or dual-language settings.

How Long is the Program?

The SCOE Bilingual Authorization Program is an 8-unit program.  Courses are offered from February through May. Most courses meet on Saturdays, 9:00 am-4:00 pm (on Zoom). 

What is the Cost of the Program?

The cost of the program for Credentialed Teachers adding a Bilingual Authorization in $3,000.
