According to the American Association of University Women, females make up less than one-third of the workforce in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and men vastly outnumber women majoring in most STEM fields in college.
To support and encourage girls in middle school to explore STEM opportunities, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is hosting a special event at SMUD's Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC).
This event is open to female students in grades 6-8. Although this program's focus is on girls, all are welcome to apply regardless of gender identity. This includes anyone who identifies as female regardless of assignment at birth. This program also welcomes people who identify as non-binary.
This is a FREE event with limited spaces available. Please make sure to register early! Participants will receive a confirmation email a week before the event confirming their attendance.
