About Me

My name is Wendy Kmetz! 

I enjoy teaching 1st grade at SCJN! I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Neumann University and a master's degree in elementary education from Cabrini College. During my teaching career, I have taught pre-K, kindergarten and 1st grade. I’ve found teaching young children to be a great joy because they love to learn new things and have a natural curiosity about the world around them!

My husband and I have lived in Springfield for over 30 years. Together, we have raised two daughters and a son. Now, I love being Grandmother of 5 grandchildren!

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends; vacationing at the beach; and reading. 

I am so fortunate to work with such a supportive staff at SCJN. It is a blessing to be surrounding by such a wonderful and caring community of parents. I am inspired by the children I teach every day!
