This will be my 7th year teaching Honors Math @ SCJN. I truly love teaching at SCJN and feel so blessed to teach here!
In addition to being a Math teacher, I am also a licensed professional engineer. I graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. For the first 9 years of my career, I worked as an engineer in waste management and water treatment. While working as an engineer, I also worked part time as a middle and high school Math tutor. When our eldest child, Olivia, was born, I decided to stop working as an engineer, and I was blessed to become a stay-at-home-mom for the next 11 years. When Olivia started 6th grade, I was ready to go back to work. Through my many years of tutoring, I discovered that I loved working with middle school students and ultimately decided to pivot into a teaching career. I completed my post baccalaureate coursework in Middle Level Education at Eastern University.
My husband (Tom) and I live in Bryn Mawr near Villanova University. We have 3 children - Olivia, Nicholas, and Alexandra. Sadly we are empty-nesters (at least during the school year) for the first time this year!
Our daughter, Olivia, is 23 and graduated from The University of Richmond in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and a Minor in Leadership Studies. Olivia was also a member of the Richmond Spider field hockey team (left defensive back) and was also a two time co-captain. Olivia is a graduate of Radnor High School and St Katharine of Siena School in Wayne, PA. Prior to her college career, Olivia played field hockey for Radnor High School and Mainline Mayhem.
Olivia lives and works in NYC. She works for an investment management firm, Neuberger Berman. Olivia is an Analyst in their Institutional Sales Department. We are so proud of her! She is having a blast in NYC and is living with two of her close friends from Radnor High School.
Our son, Nicholas (Nick to everyone, but our family!), is 21 and is a Junior at Washington & Lee University (W&L) in Lexington, VA. Nicholas is studying Pre-Med at W&L and is leaning toward becoming an orthopedic surgeon. Nicholas is also a lacrosse goalie for W&L.
Nicholas will be studying abroad at St Andrews in Scotland for the Fall Semester - we are super excited for him (and honestly, quite jealous)!
Nicholas is a graduate of Radnor High School, and also attended Radnor Middle School and St Katharine of Siena School in Wayne, PA.
Our youngest, Alexandra (Alex to her friends), is 19 and is a Freshman at Boston College. Alexandra is in the Business School and will be focusing on Finance. Alexandra is also a member of the BC Field Hockey Team and I can not wait to watch her tear it up on the field this year!
We also have a German Shepherd named Atlas and he is 5.5 years old. Atlas is awesome! Atlas was born on Easter Sunday in 2020.
I spend most of my free time on the sidelines of the field hockey and lacrosse fields cheering for our children! When I am not on the sidelines, I am generally traveling to and from games! Occasionaly, I have some free time! During my free time, I love cooking, sharing a meal with family and friends, and spending time with our dog, Atlas. I also love to travel and this summer we were so fortunate to spend a week in Bay Head, NJ and a week in the South of France.
