Hi! My name is Deanna Smith, and this is my seventh year teaching at SCJN! I have a BA in Studio Art with a minor in Art History from Monmouth University. After graduating, I gained my certification in K-12 Art Education.
I was born and raised in the Pine Barrens of NJ, right between Philly and LBI. I always thought I was so lucky to live so close to the best city AND the best beaches! My husband and I live in Exton with our 2 year old son, Cooper, and our two dogs, Georgie and Chance. In addition to teaching, I am a practicing artist and love to work with oil paint and graphite. My favorite place in the whole wide world is Florence, Italy. When I'm not traveling or working on my next project, you can probably find me running around with my dogs or playing with Cooper!
The best part about about my job is watching students have so much fun while learning and creating. We have the best time making messes, discussing artists and art movements throughout history, and experimenting with different art making processes. We truly have the most talented artists here at SCJN! I am very grateful to be a part of this community and share my faith with the students. I cannot wait for another amazing year!
