My Classes 2020-2021 Fall Term

Course #1 - Forestry 1

  • In this course students will be exploring topics related to Oregon's forests, including heritage, forest biology, the environmental and economic importance of forests in Oregon, forest management, and our responsibility to Oregon's forests. Students will learn specific industry skills related to these topics, including timber cruising, log scaling, compass and pacing, and map reading. They will also gain the knowledge to be able to identify tools related to the industry, as well as trees and animals associated with our forests.

Course #2 - Forestry 2

  • This course is similar to Forestry 1, diving a bit deeper into the topics mentioned above.

Course #3 - Small Engines

  • Small Engines is a combined class. We spend part of the time in the classroom learning about the technical aspect of engines and part of the time in the shop rebuilding engines. There is time towards the end of the semester to work on individual projects. ADVANCED: In the advanced course we will review some basic engine theory, complete an engine rebuild, then work on individual projects in the class.
