About Me

A bit about me

My name is Timbre White; I was born, raised, and still live in the lovely little town of Scio. I have two kids, a son named Arley who is 12, and a daughter named June, who is 10. Together we have a black lab pup named Hank and three cats, Jax, Thistle, and Thug, as well as all kinds of wild and domestic farm animals as we live on a family tree/sheep farm just south of Scio.

My passion is for Forestry and Natural Resources and all the little off shoots that come along with the subject. My dad has been involved in the logging industry since he was 18 years old, and being one of his two girls, I was chosen to be dragged around in the woods from a very young age. Some of my earliest memories are of being out in the woods tagging along to watch firewood being cut, old yarders set up on the back of '50 something flat bed trucks dragging logs out of the woods, planting trees in the middle of the winter when the ground was frozen solid, being sat in a spot that was 'out of the bite' at the far end of a four foot circular sawmill that was powered by a 1948 Case tractor motor, watching the sawdust fly, and so on and so on. So when I say that I've literally spent my entire life in and around the woods, that's fairly accurate. And I love it.

I graduated Scio High School in 2004 and during my career here was very involved with the forestry program at both the school and state level. I participated in leadership roles in both club and state officer positions, and was very active in the forestry skills events. Besides working for my Dads own logging and forest management company off and on for as long as I can remember, after high school I held several different industry focused jobs; I spent a summer working for the Oregon Department of Forestry as a wild land firefighter. I worked for Freres Lumber Company, both on their road crew and for their Timber department, where my job description ranged from everything from timber inventory cruising to timber sale marking to culvert installation and much more. For the past six years, I have been working for a local logging company called G&M Logging as a skidder operator and landing chaser. In 2013 I completed the course work to obtain my Masters Woodland Managers Certificate through Oregon State University's Extension Service.

So in short, industry is my background, forestry and natural resource education and experience is my passion, and woodshop and small engines are my interests, and the honor that it is to get to be part of this program here at Scio High School is very exciting for me!

Looking forward to a great year!
