I finally finished my third period. Finally relaxing for the first time in the day. I put in my headphones, waiting a few moments for them to connect properly. Once they do, I go straight to my favorite podcast, as a new episode has been released. I hit play, and start listening. The podcast helps me get through my lunch period.
I finally am back home after a long day of school. I get ready for my run. And as I exit the door I put on my favorite podcast. The talking of the pod feeds into my ears and helps stimulate me through my run. I listen to the ideas and stories and conversations as they come, and think of my own opinions on it.Â
I get up out of my chair and head downstairs. I get my shoes and helmet and my bag gets thrown onto the back of my bike. I pick up my bike and roll it down the steps and onto my block. As I stand there next to it, I take out my phone and continue listening to my podcast. I get on my bike and spin around the Schuylkill while listening.
All of these are times that I decide to listen to my podcasts. They are like designated times when I can just listen to something and zone out while enjoying myself. Often the most relaxing times of the week are times when I can just be outside with nature, myself, and my podcast.
A podcast can be like having a conversation in a strange way. You are listening to others ideas, while also listening to your own ideas, without having the stress of needing to consider what others will think of it.
Sometimes you want to listen to funny podcasts. Sometimes to serious podcasts. And sometimes a mixture of both. I can find all those kinds for whatever I am looking for.
It can also be something simply relaxing. An ambient background noise that distracts you. Distracts you from the negatives and helps you focus on simple things. They make me feel happy, calm, and generally content. Sometimes the happiest moments are seemingly the most simple.
All these are ways podcasts have made my life more enjoyable, and they can do the same for yours.
