Ph.D. Data Science Program

University of the Philippines, Diliman

Congratulations to your interest in enrolling in the PhD Data Science program by the College of Science, College of Engineering, and School of Statistics, University of the Philippines Diliman.

Admission Requirements

Make sure you satisfy the minimum academic requirements before you proceed. If in doubt, ask your potential mentor and/or send us an inquiry. You should have already decided on the best possible Program Track available.

Documentary Requirements

Prepare the following documents before proceeding.

  1. Filled out application form available for download in the Forms page.

  2. Official Transcript of Records (TOR) or True Copy of Grades (TCG)**

  3. At least two(2) favorable letters of recommendation from former professors. Standard forms are downloadable from the Forms page.

  4. PDF copy of the PSA Birth Certificate (original to be submitted once admitted)

  5. PDF copy of the Marriage Certificate (for married women; original to be submitted once admitted)

  6. TOEFL score report (for foreign applicants whose medium of instruction in the schools they attended is not English)

  7. For those planning for Option 3 (Ph.D. by Research Track): (a) PDF document that lists of the most recent publications (past 5 years) with URL; and (b) a capsule proposal (PDF)

Notes:
  • **Graduates from UP Diliman may also provide copies of their CRS copy of grades if their TOR are not yet available.

Steps

  1. Make sure you have the digital copies of following REQUIRED DOCUMENTS are ready to be uploaded using the Application Portal.

  2. Visit the Application Portal to fill-out an online application form and submit the required documents.

  3. Request the recommending faculty to check their email. Make sure they submit the filled-out recommendation form via the submission portal for this.
