Prof. Tarek Elgindi received his BSc in mathematics with Honors from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 2009, and his PhD from the Courant Institute, New York University in 2014 under the supervision of N. Masmoudi and F. H. Lin. He held positions at Princeton University and the University of California at San Diego, and is currently Professor of Mathematics at Duke University.  He made groundbreaking contributions to the study of the stability and singularity formation of the incompressible Euler equations and related topics in partial differential equations and fluid dynamics. In recognition of his outstanding work, he has been chosen as an Invited Speaker in the international Congress of Mathematicians 2026 and he has received several prestigious awards, including the Frontiers of Science Award (2024), a Minerva distinguished fellowship at Princeton University (2023-2024), a Simons Fellowship (2023-2024), an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship (2020) and an NSF CAREER Award, to name a few.
