Top 10 OTPs (One true pairings)

  1. Han Solo and Chewbacca – The classic boy and his dog pairing, with Han Solo as the dog, obviously.
  2. John and Yoko – Sometimes I wake up in a cold sweat because I’ve dreamt the Beatles stayed together and put out several terrible disco albums in the late ‘70s, so if Yoko did break up the Beatles, her timing was impeccable. Also, “The Ballad of John and Yoko” is a banger.
  3. Espresso and steamed milk – My drug of choice.
  4. Katniss and Gale – This one is really just to annoy my wife.
  5. Lebron and Cleveland – It’s like “When Harry Met Sally” starring an athlete and a city, only with an alternate ending where Sally ends up with a D-list movie star in Hollywood.

6. Shrimp and grits – Freaky-looking whiskered decapods served over cheesy boiled cornmeal, Mmmm.

7. Daisy and Tom Buchanan – What a wonderful thing when two truly awful people find each other and then cannot ruin anyone else’s life. Well, almost anyone else. Sorry Gatsby.

8. Harry Potter and Cho Chang – Don’t @ me Weasley apologists.

9. Theo and Vincent van Gogh – A few years ago my wife and I read this crazy long biography of Vincent van Gogh. Vincent was not an easy man to love, but his younger brother Theo supported him unconditionally, both financially and emotionally. They died within six months of each other, both in their thirties.

10. Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years – (Spoiler from a thirty-year-old television show to follow) I don’t care what that stupid series finale thinks, Kevin and Winnie got married and lived happily ever after.
