Coach Douglas enters his 4th season as the 5th Head Boys Basketball coach in Steele Canyon history after taking over the program in 2020. In his first year the program more than tripled the previous season's win total. In his second season, he lead the program to a 16-11 overall record, a Grossmont Valley League Championship, and the first playoff win in 8 years. Last season the Cougars repeated as league champions and he was awarded Grossmont Valley League Coach of the Year.

Prior to Steele Canyon, Coach Douglas was an assistant coach at Southwestern College helping guide the Jaguars to a 25-5 (10-0 conference) record and a #5 ranking in the state of California. In his tenure in charge of defense, and player development the program moved on 12 players to 4 year universities or professional contracts. He also led defense and skill development at La Jolla Country Day helping the program win San Diego Section CIF D2 championship in 2016. 

Coach Douglas is a two time graduate of San Diego State University (B.A. in Communication, M.A. in Educational Leadership) where he suited up for legendary Coach Steve Fisher. 

Coach Christian grew up in San Diego, CA. After graduating from St. Augustine High School, he went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance from San Diego State University. He currently works as a Project Manager for Thermo Fisher Sceintific in Carlsbad, CA. He was part of Steele Canyon's 2023 Grossmont Valley League Championship staff, and also coached youth basketball at the Salvation Army Joan Kroc Center through college. Additionally he has worked as a skills trainer for local high school basketball players for 2 years.
