Mr. O'Connell is excited to be in his third year in St. Charles! He is originally from Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Mr. O'Connell graduated from Luther College in 2019 and previously taught at Lourdes High School in Rochester. He just completed his masters of music education degree with Minnesota State University, Mankato. Mr. O'Connell is an active music educator, teacher, and performer in Southeastern Minnesota. He is the interim conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra with Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestras (SEMYO) and maintains a private studio of oboe and piano students. He also plays oboe with the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra and Rochester Community Band. Mr. O'Connell is an active accompanist playing piano for musicals, ballets, and competitions. He enjoys playing music with his wife as they frequently perform together. When not playing music, you can find Mr. O'Connell playing pickleball, tennis, or Harry Potter themed board games.
