The Westfield Intermediate School Library will be a center of learning. It will offer the opportunity to celebrate literature and provide access to quality resources and technologies. The library will collaborate with the school community to improve literacy and 21st century skills.
Library Procedures and Programs - 2020-2021
The library will provide digital resources for online and remote learning including databases, online encyclopedias, news sources, and ebooks.
The school year will start out with a Books to Go program. Students will request books through the catalog and the books will be dropped off in the classroom. Return books through the book return slot outside of the library.
Digital Badges! Students will be able to earn digital badges throughout the year. Badges can be kept in a digital portfolio or displayed in their email signature. Badges can also earn prizes from the library throughout the year.
Chromebooks will be managed through the library. Please contact the office or the library if you need a chromebook or need chromebook repair.
Hi! My name is Mrs. Preye and I am your school librarian. I have a B.A. in History and Social Sciences from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Masters from Cambridge College in Education for Library Teacher. I taught history for seven years before becoming a school librarian. I love being in the library because I enjoy reading and research. I am happy to help our school community find books, complete research, find learning resources, and assist with technology.

Need a book? Here is how to get a book delivered to your classroom!
Go to the Library Catalog

Sign in with Google (use your school gmail and password)
Search for a book
The librarian will get your hold notice and deliver it to your classroom. Please be patient!
Return books in the slot in the windows outside of the library.
Books will be quarantined for 6 days before returning to shelf.
If you cannot put a book on hold, email me at email@example.com. Tell me your homeroom and the title of the book you want.
Students will have the opportunity to earn digital badges this year. These badges will show their mastery on various topics having to do with technology and the library.
Digital Badges can be kept in a digital portfolio (in a doc or slideshow) and/or displayed in your email signature.
Earn Badges= Win Prizes!
Three badges will earn you a mystery prize pack from the Library. Anyone who earns badges will be entered in a raffle at the end of the year.
