This document shows the steps to complete the Digital World Language Exams. This exam has a Listening Section (Part 2A & 2B), a Reading Sections (Part 3A, 3B, and 3C) and a Writing Sections (Part 4A & 4B). You have already completed the Speaking Section - Part 1.
Log in
Your teacher will give you a username and a password. This username is for this exam only. Do not use your email address. This username will work for today only. The website you will go to is:
My Sessions
After you log in, you will see the "My Sessions Screen. This screen is where you will see the tests sessions that you have to complete. You will begin the test with Session 1: Listening and Reading. You will then begin Session 2: Writing Part 4A. You will then begin Session 3: Writing Part 4B.
Each time you answer a question, click the blue arrow to submit.
You must answer the question before you submit.
When you complete a section of the test, click on the button at the bottom that says, “Submit this part”. You will not be able to return to a section once you have submitted it.
You will not be able to move on unless you respond to the question and play the media.
Begin Session 1: Listening & Reading
To begin, click on START in the box that says, Session 1
The first screen in Session 1: Listening and Reading - will explain the test to you.
The next screen is where you will adjust the volume, practice changing the text size, and read the terms and conditions. You must enter your name to agree to the terms and conditions of the test.
There are 2 Listening sections: Part 2A, and Part 2B
First, there will be a page with directions. You will have a chance to adjust the volume on this screen. Make sure you can hear it, because you will need to hear the audio to answer the questions. Then, you will answer 8 questions in part 2A, and 5 questions in part 2B.
You must play the sample to move on to the next page.
The questions will look like this. You should read the question before playing the audio. Press the triangle to play the audio. The statement will be repeated twice. You will not be able to play the audio again.
Click on the box with your answer to choose the answer.
Click the blue arrow when you are ready.
There are 3 Parts to the reading section. Part 3A, 3B, and 3C.
Part 3A has 1 passage with 5 questions about it.
Part 3B has 5 separate passages with 1 question each.
Part 3C has 1 passage with 5 questions about it.
You will see a passage on one side, with questions on the other side. Use the bar on the side to scroll down to view the entire passage.
For the reading section only, you can go back to questions you already answered by clicking on the circles at the bottom or the back arrow. You will have to answer the question you are already on first.
At the end of this session, you will view and overview screen that allows you to see all of the questions that you answered, and go back to make changes if you wish. Click Submit this Part when you are ready.
There are 2 writing sessions:
Session 2: Part 4A
Session 3: Part 4B
Each writing section will give you a prompt to write about. If you know how to type in the language of the exam, you can type your answer. If you do not know how to type in the language, or you are not very good at it, you can handwrite your response. When it is time to respond, raise your hand and ask your teacher for a response sheet.
If you handwrite your response, you will work with your teacher to scan and upload your response to the testing platform.
The first page explains how to use this section and how the writing section will be scored. The second page gives additional directions. Make sure to scroll the bottom of the pages.
On the bottom, these pages are marked with the letter "i".
Use the blue arrow to move to the next page.
The page marked with the number 1 is the page with the writing prompt, passages to refer to in your writing, and the place to enter your response.
Enter your response if you are typing it. If you will type your response, you may need to select the proper keyboard from the toolbar. Ask your teacher for help if you need it.
Then, you will type your answer. If you are handwriting your answer, ask for the response sheet while you are on this screen. You will need to be able to see the prompt and passages.
In the response box, write “See uploaded response”. This will tell the grader that you wrote by hand. You must write something in the box to move to the next page.
When you are done writing, click the blue arrow at the bottom.
The next page is the page to upload your response if you did not type it. If you DID type it, then you may click the blue arrow to move on. If you wrote by hand, you will need to log out and come back to this page when you are ready to upload the response.
In either case, click the blue arrow.
DO NOT CLICK SUBMIT If you did not type or upload your response.
Instead, log out of the page: click on the “hamburger” menu on the top left. Then click on logout. This will bring you back to the “my sessions” screen. You may go on to the next session while you wait for your response to be scanned.
If you typed your answer, click “Submit this Part”. This will bring you back to the “My Sessions” screen.
Return to the My Sessions Screen
From this screen, you may start the next session.
The introduction screens will be similar to the screens from part 4A. In part 4B, you will choose between two writing prompts. There is no passage to read or refer to in part 4B.
Click the button to indicate which option you are responding to.
Enter your response if you are typing it.
If you are handwriting your answer, ask for the response sheet while you are on this screen. You will need to be able to see the prompt.
In the response box, write “See uploaded response”. This will tell the grader that you wrote by hand. You must write something in the box to move to the next page.
Use the blue arrow to move to the next page.
The next page is the page to upload your response if you did not type it. If you DID type it, then you may click the blue arrow to move on. If you wrote by hand, you will need to log out and come back to this page when you are ready to upload the response.
In either case, click the blue arrow.

If you typed your answer, click “Submit this Part”. This will bring you back to the “My Sessions” screen.
Give your handwritten responses to your teacher. They will work with you to scan them to a digital file.
When the files are ready, “Continue” to return to the Session 2.
Then, click through to the upload page, and upload the file. Once uploaded, click the blue arrow to go to the final page, and now you can safely click “Submit This Part”.
After you submit all three sessions, you will return to the My Sessions Screen.
Before you leave, raise your hand to show your teacher that you have completed the exam. You should see no more sessions on your “My Sessions” screen. Click on the circle at the top right, then click on Logout.
