School Visit & Dismissal Policies

Visitor Entry & Appointments

• Building Entry: All visitors must sign in and present valid photo identification upon entering the school building.

• Prohibited Items: Bikes, scooters, skateboards, and similar items are strictly prohibited inside the school.

• Staff Meetings: To meet with a teacher, guidance counselor, or administrator, visitors must schedule an appointment in advance.

Early Sign-Out Policy

• Valid Identification Required: Anyone picking up a student must present a valid, government-issued photo ID. Per DOE regulations, students will not be released without one. Credit cards, library cards, medical insurance cards, and work IDs are not accepted.

• Authorized Contacts Only: Only individuals listed on NYCDOE records or the student's Emergency Blue Contact Card may sign a student out. Please ensure your contact details remain up to date.

• No Verbal or Written Exceptions: Parents/guardians cannot grant verbal or written permission for an unlisted person to pick up a child, nor can they give permission over the phone for a minor student to leave unaccompanied.

• Advance Notice: If you plan to pick up your child early, please contact the main office in advance to set a time.

• Cut-Off Time: To avoid disruption at the end of the day, please avoid picking up students within 30 minutes of scheduled dismissal.
