Requirements
Admissions will be open to all students who live in District 20 or who are zoned to attend a District 20 middle school. We will utilize the composite scores of students’ 4th-grade core courses as reflected in student report cards aligned to the District 20 Grading Policy. Students will have the opportunity to apply to all three academies: Academy of Scientific Research, Academy of Business and Law, Academy of Arts and Humanities. Students who desire admission must apply to at least one academy. Students may apply to all three academies, with each academy ranked as an individual school choice.
Upon acceptance to IS 187 and their academy choice students will have an additional screening for band, chorus, and theater, subject to programming, staffing and financial constraints.
