The students of M.S. 407 are smashing pumpkins!
The Great Pumpkin Smash at M.S. 407: A Day of Fun and Flying Seeds
By Iris Mizrahi
On November 13th, many students brought pumpkins to school. Why, you ask? For the Pumpkin Smash, of course! In the weeks leading up, crew classes were busy decorating pumpkins for a school-wide contest. Culture Through Food took first place with their creative KFC-themed pumpkin—but that’s a story for another day.
Once the contest wrapped up, it was time for the main event: the Pumpkin Smash! Students smashed, stomped on, and even hammered their pumpkins into pieces. In my opinion, it was incredibly fun, and I loved every minute of it. I hope we keep the Pumpkin Smash as a yearly tradition!
Behind the Scenes of our Student Council
By Lilah DeClara
When you bake something, everyone loves the final result—but not everyone sees the hard work that happens before it’s ready. That’s kind of like our Student Council! We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make our school an even better place.
Our student council makes posters to promote anti-bullying. We are also currently working on putting together a Star Council Café where students and teachers can enjoy breakfast. Additionally, we created a suggestion box so you can tell us what snacks you want at our snack sales.
The students of M.S. 407 are a huge part of our school community. All these fun activities and cool ideas wouldn’t be possible without all of you. Thanks for helping make our school great!
