As we head into the summer break, we want to ensure our students, staff and families have access to the many wonderful resources, programs, and support services available throughout New York City.

NYC Public Schools Summer 101: For citywide updates on required summer school, youth sports and recreation partnerships via PSAL, digital reading libraries like Sora, and vital seasonal safety tips (including swimming guidelines and city cooling centers), please visit the official NYC Public Schools Summer 101 webpage
District 22 Summer Rising Sites: If your child is participating in the Summer Rising program, or if you need to contact the school's parent coordinator you can find the complete list of specific District 22 school sites directly on our resource page to stay connected with schedules and academic support.
Summer Meals: Free breakfast and lunch are provided at various locations throughout the city to ensure children stay healthy and active. This includes designated public schools, local community spots, and parks. No registration or ID is required for children to receive a meal. View a listing of District 22 Summer Meal locations.Â
Summer Reading & Learning: NYC Reads and NYC Solves! Keep those reading and math skills sharp over the break! Check out the featured Summer Reading Guide and take advantage of free programming for children of all ages across NYC library systems, including online tutoring support via Brainfuse with the Brooklyn Public Library. All students have access to Sora the free digital library application. View mathematics resources and learn at home supports.
Free Outdoor Pools: NYC public outdoor pools open daily starting Saturday, June 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (with a cleaning break from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.). These spots offer a safe, fun environment to cool off, and free summer meals are also served right at city pool locations!
Summer EBT Food Benefits: Eligibility letters for the 2026 Summer EBT program are being mailed out. Eligible children will receive a one-time annual food benefit of $120 loaded onto an EBT card to assist with grocery costs. Issuances began on June 16, 2026. If you believe your child is eligible but do not receive a letter by August 1, please utilize the helpline provided on the New York State Website.Â
Free & Low-Cost Health Services: Access various health resources to support family well-being all summer long, including low-to-no-cost services at NYC Sexual Health Clinics, dental clinic finders via the NYC Health Map, youth development resources from Growing Up NYC, and licensed childcare through the Child Care Services Finder.
Free Summer Staff & Family Workshops at the Carol Pino Learning Farm. Join us this Summer for Harvesting, Herb Bundling, Pickling & Field to Fork workshops. All workshops run from 9am-11am. *ALL STUDENTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT* Learn more about our farm and register here
