P.S. 8 The Luis Belliard School is a community school located in Washington Heights, Manhattan, serving students in 3K through 5th grade. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners through rigorous instruction, social emotional support, and enrichment.

Our Vision

We envision our school as a corps committed to creating confident, well-educated, lifelong learners.  Together with the Children’s Aid Society, our administration, staff and parents actively provide students with high-quality opportunities for standard-based learning through the development of academic, technological, and social skills in a safe and non-threatening environment.

Our Mission

We will afford all children the opportunity to be responsible, creative, well-adjusted individuals by providing rigorous instruction, character education, and comprehensive support services.  Through shared decision-making, collaborative planning, differentiation and small group instruction, we will promote a strong foundation of knowledge, skills, and experience in order to raise academic achievement.
