Every family is required to complete this form regardless if your child does not participate in the School Food Lunch Program.

Please be sure to print your confirmation receipt.  Great News- As per School Food, ALL STUDENTS FOR THE YEAR 2025-2026 WILL EAT FOR FREE!

3. Permission Slip for Walking Field Trips

4. Emergency Blue Cards - you must complete ALL THREE Blue Cards (except kindergarten if you already completed)

5. Complete and Return Dietary Restriction/Allergy Form

Monday, September 15, 2025: Important Reminder!  Please Read the Parent Handbook Attached!

Arrival Procedures 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM

• 7:30 AM School Yard gates will open for breakfast daily in the cafeteria.

• 7:50 AM Arrive at the School Yard gate

• 8:00 AM School Yard gates will Close.  Period 1 - School Day begins at 8:00 AM Sharp!

• After 8:00 AM, students are considered late.  Late students must be escorted to the main lobby to receive a late pass from a TAOTS staff member. Please NEVER leave any student unattended.  Always be sure to make contact with a TAOTS staff member to escort your late student to their classroom. 

• Students who are extremely late after 8:20 AM, MUST be escorted by their parent / guardian to the main office located on the 2nd floor, room 214 to sign your child in the late log.

Breakfast Update

• A grab-and-go breakfast option will be available on these two days.

August 26, 2025 - September 3, 2025

• Attached are TAOTS Teacher Tailored K-5 School Supply Lists.  For your convenience, we will have School Supply Drop Off Days on Tuesday, August 26 - Wednesday, September 3, from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM in the Main Lobby.  Please be sure to Clearly Label Each Bag / Box with your child's Full Name and Grade.

Uniforms - Dress Code Policy

In 2009 the founding principal of PS 682, The Academy of Talented Scholars, Ms. Sportella - Giusto, together with the founding PTO & SLT voted on establishing a school uniform policy and Friday dress down day.

Our students will wear a school uniform. Khaki will be the color of our pants, skirts, skorts, dresses and/or shorts. Students will have the option of wearing white or red polo or rugby shirts/blouses, sweaters and/or vests.

Gym Uniform: Students will wear gray sweatpants and sweatshirts or T-shirts with our school name and/or logo. Parents can purchase the gym uniform through Land’s End or through Ideal Uniform Store.

Please note that you do not need to purchase uniforms from these specific companies. You may purchase uniform clothing at The Children's Place, Old Navy, Target, etc…

FRIDAYS: Students have the option of dressing down in their own clothes provided it’s appropriate to school. Uniforms may also be worn if you choose.

Please make sure your children have proper footwear, sneakers are required on gym day. No Crocs, high heels, or flip flops will be allowed in school for safety reasons.

Contact our school’s Parent Coordinator, Ms. Melissa Appelbaum, MAppelbaum@schools.nyc.gov for assistance if purchasing the school uniform poses a hardship. Also, inquire about our gently used uniforms, which are available for our students in the main office.
