In Kindergarten through 5th Grade, our literacy units are planned using HMH Into-Reading. Teacher teams work together to tailor scope and sequences for each unit of study according to the needs of our students. All students below a 3rd grade reading level are placed in small groups to receive tailored phonics instruction every day.

Kindergarten teachers use this program to address phonemic awareness. All the lessons are auditory and students work with manipulating sounds and sounds in words.
In Kindergarten through 5th Grade, teachers use the Jan Richardson model for guided reading. This program is done in small groups for 20 minutes. Based on the needs of the students, it scaffolds and teaches specific strategies, incorporates word study, vocabulary instruction, and connects reading and writing.
Eureka Math, also known as EngageNY, is a program used in Kindergarten through 5th Grade that carefully sequences the mathematical progressions into expertly crafted modules. This program provides both teachers and students with a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on high order thinking and the explanation behind the arithmetic. This program follows a similar structure day to day and grade to grade, so that students can get accustomed to the routines and procedures of the math block.
In Kindergarten through 5th Grade, we use Passport to Social Studies; a program designed by the New York City Department of Education. This program integrates the Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS) and the New York State K-8 Social Studies Framework to support strong social studies teaching and learning. This program allows students to make sense of the world in which they live, make connections between major ideas and their own lives, and see themselves as active members of a global community.
In Kindergarten through 5th Grade, we use the Amplify Science program. This program blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists and engineers.
