Dear Families, April 9, 2020

I hope this letter finds you and your family well and hope you are managing the challenging times we are currently living in. Over the last two weeks, I have been captivated by the strength of our community to not only persevere but to support and care for each other.

As a school we have two main priorities in this new learning platform. First and always at the forefront is providing opportunities for students to connect daily with their teachers and classmates. Secondly, to offer online learning that is meaningful, authentic and engaging.

We hope to achieve these goals while knowing that these are trying times for many. We understand the stress that many families are under, and so we have attempted to develop a distance learning schedule with flexible parameters. As we are all in need of a break from this platform, we are looking at next week as an opportunity to engage in project-based exploration and connections. For April 13 -17, formerly known as “Spring Break”, there will be one daily check in with one of your child’s teachers. Please see the outline for next week posted on our webpage or go directly to your child’s Google Classroom Platform containing detailed information.

Additionally, I want to publicly acknowledge and thank our faculty and staff for the tireless work they have been doing daily to accommodate, support and connect to our students and families. This is a new learning platform for us all. During these times, staff are also experiencing updates and challenges for their own children’s virtual learning and caring for family members. Every day we start with a whole school team meeting and never has anyone lost sight of the priority, the children we share.

While we do not have all of the answers yet and recognize that there will be some bumps in the road, we will continue to work to address potential challenges. I will always put your children first and remain DRIVEN!
