WINTER 2020 INNOVATIONS

OUR TECH-CS PROGRAM

Technology classes at Parkside Preparatory Academy are uniquely designed and implemented by Ms. Theobald to provide our students with innovative experiences that lend them a competitive edge over their contemporary peers. Our mission is to inspire innovation, engagement, 21st Century Career Readiness and foundational computer science principles though creative project based assessments with cross-curricular and real world applications. Following are examples of 6th, 7th and 8th grade student responses to remote instructional class TECH and CS challenges, that activated their inherent creativity and curiosity for all things TECH, strengthened their understanding and application of Google Docs, Google Draw and Google Slides and exposed them to introductory computer science principles. The technology program at PPA serves as an incubator for groundbreaking CS & TECH innovations.

TECH SKILLS: Create Google slides, Augment Themes, Text boxes, Shapes, Call Outs, Layering, Slide Background. Customized Digital colors, Color, Slide Order, Animations and Transitions. .

CROSS CURRICULAR APPLICATION:

Students were challenged to create subject specific Google Slide Presentations that exhibit their intermediate to advanced understandings of this software platform.
