Below are the weekly videos and tasks for

7th Grade remote learning

Week 6/22

Digital Art and Google Meet


LT: I can explore and experiment with a digital art program to learn the foundations of digital art.


-Review the assignment doc

-Using YouiDraw (https://www.youidraw.com/apps/painter) or any app or website that you prefer, create a picture in which you:


  • Use at least 2 brushes

  • Use at least 2 colors

  • Use at least 2 brushes sizes

  • Optional - Change the opacity of your brush in at least one area

  • Optional - Use the paint bucket tool in at least one area

We will have a Google Meet to say our final goodbyes, recap the year, and play an art game as a class! (Teachers have afternoon meetings

T-F, and students have 1/2 day on Fri, so we must meet during our morning class times.)

Photography 101


LT: I can make successful texture photography compositions by learning how to frame my photos when shooting.


*Note: You can use your cell phone or tablet camera for this assignment

Editing 101


LT: I can use basic editing software to enhance my photographs.


Week 6/8 Day 1

Animation 101 (Video)


LT: I can learn how to use basic animation software to create an animation.


  • Watch animation video (!!!!)

    • How to create simple animations using Flipanim.com
      (iPad and Computer friendly)

    • How to create simple animations using FlipaClip app

  • Browse Flipanim galleries

  • Begin creating an animation using one of the above software or choice of your own

  • Due at the end of this week, share link or upload video file to Google Classroom

  • Don't go overboard! Animation takes time and you only have 2 classes!

  • Minimum requirement (you can do more!):

5 seconds on med-fast speed

15 frames
OR
A detailed character on LOOP

Week 6/8 Day 2

Work n Chat (Live!)


LT: I can continue to use basic animation software to finish my animation.


Please try to join class on time if you can!


  • Continue to work on your animation on your own or join your class to work, show progress, and talk about animation and cartoons.

  • Use Flipanim.com or FlipaClip app or choice of your own

  • Due at the end of this week, share link or upload video file to Google Classroom

    • Don't go overboard! Animation takes time and you do no have long!

LT: I can learn about a modern, pop-culture stained glass artist, wrap up my project by competing against my classmates in a related game, and plan ahead for art class for the rest of the year.

Please try to join class on time if you can make it! There's a lot to cover!

Week 6/2 Day 2

Well Color Me Impressed!


LT: I can use my knowledge of color theory to participate in a friendly competition of color games with my classmates.

Please try to join class on time if you can make it! There's a lot to cover!

Week 5/25 Day 2

Color Theory Quiz


LT: I can use my knowledge of color theory to complete a quiz.


  • Complete Color Theory Quiz using Google Forms

  • Lowest quiz grade will be dropped for this marking period!

    • This means, for example, if you got a 60 on the last quiz, but a 100 on the color quiz, only the 100 will count!


Week 5/18 Day 1

Finish Fruit/Veggie (Not Background)


LT: I can finish my stained glass of just my fruit/veggie and submit it before next class for feedback.


  • Continue to work on project

  • Use values or analogous colors to fill the space of your fruit/veggie

  • Check in due today, fruit/veggie must be completed

  • Final project due before Day 2 of week 5/24

Week 5/18 Day 2

Make Revisions, Work on Background


LT: Using my feedback, I can revise my digital stained glass artwork of a fruit or vegetable and add the background by using complementary colors and analogous colors or values.


  • Make revisions based on feedback

  • Work on background of project, using complementary color to fruit/veggie, and 3 values or analogous colors of that color.

  • Final project due before Day 2 of week 5/24


Week 5/11 Day 1

Project Intro and Overview


LT: I can review the digital stained glass project slides and video to understand what is expected of me.


*Watch video* explaining project

    • (I recommend spending day one just going through the material)


  • If you have time, watch the How-To video (for iPad OR Computer, depending on what you are using) and move onto Day 2.

Week 5/11 Day 2

Starting the Project


LT: I can work on my Invader mosaic by using complementary colors and analogous colors or values.


  • If you already started, continue to work on project


  • If not...

  • Watch the How-To video (for iPad OR Computer, depending on what you are using)

  • Choose a fruit or vegetable from the slides

  • Use the Shape Bank and/or Polyline Tool to make many shapes to fill the space of your veggie/fruit

  • Use analogous colors or values of your fruit/veggie's color to fill your shapes

  • Check in for completed fruit/veggie due after next class

  • Final project due before Day 2 of week 5/24

Color Theory

  • Watch video explaining color theory

  • Complete Worksheet in Google Slides and submit to Google Classroom

Week 5/4 Day 2

Guess to Impress

LT: I can use my knowledge of color theory to participate in a Kahoot competition

  • Watch Youtube Livestream during your scheduled class time (link will be provided)

  • Submit your score to Google Classroom to receive credit

  • **If you cannot join us during the scheduled time, a link to makeup the Kahoot will be provide**

Week 4/27 Day 1 & 2

Work on and Complete Project


  • See previous videos for how to shade/color/blend

    • Color is optional, but you still must show value

  • Complete self assessment when done

  • Submit self assessment and completed project through Google Classroom

  • Project due Friday 5/1

Week 4/20 Day 1

Put On Your Shades

  • Watch video demo shading eye and scales

  • Don’t use your finger to smudge! If you want to smudge, use a tissue!

  • Shade using pencil (optional - color -see video)

  • Completed shading of entire project due Friday 5/1

Week 4/20 Day 2

Dragons of the World

  • Dragon Symbolism reading and questions - type directly in document and submit through Google Classroom

  • Continue to work on project

    • Color optional - If using color you must still shade or blend
