Welcome to the M.S. 137 Library

Mission Statement:

It is the responsibility of the M.S. 137 America's School of Heroes Library Media Center to provide a wide range of resources in order to promote social, emotional & intellectual learning at varying levels of difficulty, with diverse appeal, presenting different points of view, in order to meet the needs of our school community. The environment of the library media center is one of investigation and is conducive to learning. Unrestricted access to a collection of appropriate materials and the availability of online information is necessary for curriculum enrichment and for the promotion of lifelong readers. The school media specialist along with content teachers, and administration will give input and suggestions towards textbooks, novels, supplement materials and other teaching tools that can provide aide within the school community and beyond.
