Sora is a student reading app that provides access to our school collection, our district collection, and the public library collections. Read your ebooks or listen to your audiobooks all from one place! Sora is accessible via the Sora App or on your web browser here.
If you do not already have a New York Public Library card, you can use this link to have an e-card e-mailed to you.
Once you have the e-card number and your PIN number, you can start downloading resources from NYPL using Sora (see above).

These are educational platforms that are providing e-book services for free (some require you to log in).
Simply E is an app that you can use to read e-books and digital audiobooks with your library card (BPL, NYPL, Queens, or others). Download on your handheld device or tablet.
FirstBook/Open eBooks
FirstBook/Open eBooks
Open eBooks offers a GREAT selection of fiction titles! Each student is eligible for a code to download up to 10 titles at a time.
Instructions:
1. Download the Open eBooks app on your device (iOS or Android) OR go to Open eBooks online catalog.
2. Contact the librarians for your personal FirstBook code & PIN.
3. Log in with your FirstBook code to download e-books to read on your device! You can check out up to 10 books at a time. Books are checked out for 56 days. Return a book early to swap it out.
You can check titles out on the website, but you have to use the app to read them.
Audible Stories is is giving FREE streaming listening options (audiobooks) for desktop, laptop, phone, or tablet. GREAT options here!
Mostly non-fiction informational books, accessible from your browser.
Contact the librarians for the password.
Each month, Riveted by Simon TEEN releases several books and excerpts. Download them by the end of the month before they're gone and replaced by a new set!

Project Gutenberg provides free over 60,000 free eBooks, no special apps needed; mostly classics; check out the top 100 here.
Mackin Classics is providing FREE access to 1,000 of their classics.
WebTOON is a platform that offers free web comics on a weekly-episode basis.
