In 4th grade, students are immersed in the exploration of the history of our society through the lens of New York State. We use varied resources that include primary sources, documents and trade books that depict our history. During lessons, students receive an opportunity to learn about the different time periods of history by examining documents, reading first hand accounts, and using the internet to find facts, ask questions, explore the topic as well as compare and contrast then and now. Students will also be able to create reports and presentations about the material and participate in discussions that apply and relate lessons to the real world of today.
