Below, you will find important information about the ELA 8 Summer Reading Program. Your job will be to familiarize yourself with the overall expectations, so that you can come back to school in September prepared to discuss your Summer Reading Experience. The following list will be the steps that you will take to make sure that you are prepared for September of 2021:

Step 2- Select a book from the ELA 8 Summer Reading Book List (You must be able to digitally access or physically have a copy of the book in your possession in September 2021)

8th Grade Summer Reading Program

The main objective for the Summer of 2021 is to select and read a book from the provided Summer Reading list.

The SEEALL Academy ELA Department's expectation for incoming 8th graders is to be prepared to address essential topics and to be able to elaborately discuss their selected piece of literature upon their September 2021 arrival to school.

What is an Essential question?

An essential question points toward important, transferable ideas within disciplines. Essential questions raise additional questions and spark further inquiry. Essential questions require support and justification, not just an answer. Essential questions recur and become continually relevant over time; regardless of what part of the story you are reading.
