SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

FIONA ACCORDINO

Fiona Accordino is a IBCP senior and has been a part of the Curtis High School dance company for 3 years. She has also been a part of Varsity cheer team and got to experience the Curtis foreign exchange program in Italy this year. Fiona has recently committed to Monmouth University for this upcoming fall. She would like to thank her mother, brother, grandparents, and her teachers here at Curtis for their love and support throughout these past 4 years. 



TALIA BENNETT

Talia Bennett is an IB senior who’s been studying dance ever since she was young. She specializes in hip hop and street jazz. She takes classes all over the 5 boroughs, and is also a part of a popular k-pop cover dance team based in Manhattan. This is her 2nd year choreographing and 3rd year dancing in the Curtis dance show, with her piece this year being called Reckless and Sweet. 

HELEN BRADY

Helen is a senior here at Curtis High School in the IB diploma program. Helen is proud to have her own choreography performed tonight in the show. Along with dance company Helen is heavily involved with student life and leadership here at Curtis as student organization Vice President and president of the Curtis Christian Club. Helen is the daughter of Gene and Judith and older sister to freshman Euegene Brady here at Curtis. Helen hopes to further her education this fall  and obtain a political science degree.  



ELIOT CABAN

Eliot Caban is a senior in the IB Diploma Program. This is his third year choreographing and performing with the Curtis Dance Company. He has been able to be a part of the past spring musical “Mamma Mia” as Harry Bright while creating his dance company piece and learning the choreography of others. It has been a challenge balancing both dance and musical theater so he is more than happy for everyone to showcase their hard work tonight. Eliot would like to say thank you to Ms. Napolitano for giving him the opportunity to choreograph and perform as well as his friends and family for continuing to support him. He hopes you enjoy the show!

ANNABEL CEPEDA

Annabel Cepeda is a senior in the IBDP program here at Curtis High School. She has been part of the Curtis Dance Company since her sophomore year and has choreographed a piece for the show all 3 of those years. She has also been part of the varsity cheerleading team since her junior year. She is thrilled to be given another opportunity to showcase her hard work and dedication in this year's dance company show. She is also very grateful to be able to dance amongst her classmates and also the guidance of Ms.Napolitano. She hopes to continue her passion for dance in her next four years in college.



LAILA HAMODOU

Laila is a senior in the Nursing Program. This is Laila's second year performing with the Curtis Dance Company. 

MERCY JGIN

Mercy Jgin is an IBCP senior and this is her second year in the curtis dance company. For her last and final performance she will be presenting a dancehall inspired piece under the name of “Throw your hands up”. Contrasting her later work, a contemporary piece called Reminiscence. She wants you to enjoy this piece the way she enjoys it when she's on stage performing it.  




EMILY MARTINEZ

Emily Martinez is appearing in her second dance company production. She is 18 years old and she is a senior. She has been a dancer since she was 3 years old and loves hip-hop dances. She enjoys using dance as a form of expression and she finds herself dancing frequently during her free time. She plans to keeping dance as a hobby after high school. 



SHERLYN MENDEZ

Sherlyn will be graduating in june. This will be her second year in dance company, she is a choreographer and dancer this year, with her piece called “Love Remedies”. She is grateful to be able to have her own dance this year. She would love to thank Ms.Napolitano for letting her participate in this year's show.



JORDAN NARANJO

Jordan is a senior in the Performing Arts House. This is Jordan's second dance show at Curtis High School. Last year Jordan performed in a tap piece. This year Jordan was so happy to be in dance company and to work with our Battery Dance Partners.

MARIANNE DENISE PAMA

Marianne  is a senior in the IBDP program at Curtis. She is appearing in her third and final production with the Curtis Dance Company. She is so glad to be given this opportunity to continue her passion of dancing throughout high school. She was also webmaster for the Curtis Key Club this year. This Dance Company has been her source of inspiration, strength, and motivation in the highs and lows of high school, and she will never forget it. She will miss everybody who was able to make her senior year so memorable and hold them and the memories close to her heart. 



RUSKIN POLANCO

Ruskin is performing at his first ever Dance Company show. He is 18 years old & is beyond thrilled to be up on stage with the Curtis Dance Company and share his last couple of weeks here before heading off to college. In his free time he likes to dance with his younger siblings and play video games. He wants to thank Ms. Napolitano, his family, and most importantly, his friends who encouraged him to do whatever his heart desires.



LUCY SCHNALL

Lucy is a senior in the IBCP program. She has been a member of the Curtis Dance Company and the Curtis Players for the past three years. Lucy also spent 3 years on the Varsity Cheer Team, becoming Captain in her senior year. She will be attending Sacred Heart University in the fall, majoring in Exercise Science, and participating in their Dance Ensemble. Lucy would like to thank Ms. Napolitano for never giving up on her and always pushing her to be her best. Lucy sends love to her family, as well as all her fellow dancers.

OLIVIA SCHNEIDER

Olivia is a senior in the IBCP program. She has been in dance company for 3 years now along with varsity cheer for 2 years. In the fall Olivia will be attending Suny New Paltz studying early childhood education. She would like to thank her family for supporting her the whole way through. She also would like to thank Ms. N and the fellow dancers for her love and support for these 3 years.



AMIL SHEPPARD

Amil is a senior at Curtis high school. She is a dedicated competitive dancer with 15 years of professional experience. She has been dancing since the age of 3. Her love, drive and passion for dance has given her an opportunity to express herself through performing arts. Amil is ecstatic to perform her last piece on stage this year since it’s a mixture of jazz and hip hop . Lastly she would like to thank her family for supporting her and getting her to where she is today 

KAYLEIGH SURAT

Kayleigh is a senior this year and this will be her third year participating in the Dance Company here at Curtis. She also was a part of Varsity Cheerleading Team. Kayleigh is grateful for the many years that she has performed dance and thanks her family for all their support.  



JEREMY WU

Jeremy, is appearing in his second dance company show. He is currently a senior here at Curtis high school. Jeremy has participated as a choreographer and dancer in last year’s dance company production. He also has experience competing in ballroom and latin dance, coupled with studies in ballet and modern dance. He is excited to be performing in work composed by his peers' and guest choreographers.
