“The actor is a storyteller, and the story must be told truthfully.”
- Uta Hagen
ACTING STUDIO
In our introduction to acting class, you will explore techniques as an actor with body and voice work, and focus on published dramatic texts. Your technical training will also include improvisation skills, playwrighting, and directing. The acting studio thrives on the vibrant energy of the ensemble, and working together to discover your skill set as a beginner, or improve on your techniques as you grow into an advanced dramatic artist.
MUSICAL THEATER
The musical theater studio focuses on the creating a full production of a published musical each spring. In addition to this production and showcases in the fall, winter and spring, we create opportunities to perform outside of school at professional venues. This seasoned group will also explore advanced acting techniques and collaborate with guest artists who are currently working in the professional field of performing arts in theater, musical theater, film, television, and other mediums.
“The arts, it has been said, cannot change the world, but they may change human beings who might change the world.”
- Maxine Greene
