Student Artist statement: When I was younger I enjoyed drawing and coloring. I used to get a piece of paper and draw disney characters. My parents would tell me to try my best and find something that I’m good at over time. I noticed that I was really good at art so I started focusing on doing it more.

Student Artist statement: I struggled with the shading of this piece. In order to overcome this I looked up tutorials, looked at other artists, and studied shading on my own time. I also tried making random shapes so I wouldn’t try to make this piece look neat because I wanted to have a messy vibe.
