Ways to Improve Our School Community
Ways to Improve Our School Community
Project Overview
As part of our upcoming HMH Reading Module 7, students are exploring the Essential Question: How can one person make a meaningful difference in their local or global community? To make this learning meaningful and relevant, our class chose to begin by taking a closer look at our own school community.
Students in Class 324 were invited to thoughtfully reflect on their daily experiences at school and identify ways our community could grow and improve. Through discussion and collaboration, students shared ideas and examples of how positive changes—both big and small—can help make our school an even more supportive and welcoming place for everyone. During the writing component, and with guidance from members of the Digital Age Learning team, students will select one topic and develop their ideas by explaining ways their chosen issue could benefit the school community. Ultimately, students will bring their learning to life by creating a digital presentation using the Pixton app, where they will design a comic to showcase their ideas on how to improve our school community.
